Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with assaults already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
